Rock'n Relay and 4 miler Portland, OR Saturday August 2nd 2008 NOON A benefit for the Oregon Humane Society

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ROCK'N RELAY AND 4 MILER:

The event that has had more buzz around it than that bee-hive in your back yard is back again for the second year. this year's event is going to be even better than last year's fun-filled innaugural event!

Part marathon relay and part local music festival, the Rock ‘N Relay is pure Portland. What better way to spend a summer afternoon than dancing and running or walking with friends? Did I mention beer and food? Terrapin events and Foot Traffic invite you to gather your team of four together and celebrate the summer...Portland-style. But wait, don't have a team of four??? This year we added an individual 4 mile run and walk to the mix! HOLY COW!

Not convinced yet? Here are more details to seal the deal:
The one-day marathon relay (that’s 26.2 miles if you didn’t know) will feature a stage for awesome local music, tasty food, a wonderful beer garden with great beer from Widmer, give aways throughout the afternoon, bounce houses for kids, face painters and much more! Gather your team of four friends, co-workers, family, classmates, or even your Hood to Coast team and sign up ASAP. Don’t forget to pick a fun team name!

The festivities all take place in downtown Portland in the upper field of Duniway Park. The beautiful, shaded, downtown course takes you along Barbur and Terwilliger Blvds. with great views of the surrounding landscape. Three members do the 2-mile circuitous course three times and one "ringer" (your fastest or fittest man or woman) does the loop four times. Cheer your teammates on as you watch them head down the hill toward the exchange area where live music and festivities await. Doing the Hood to Coast? Break your team into three groups and have an inter-team rivalry!

CATEGORIES: Running team / Walking team

TEAM TYPE: Open / Corporate / Non-Profit / High School

RACE TYPE: Men's relay/ Women's relay/ Co-ed relay

There are 4 person teams. You can have 4 men, 4 women, or a combination. Any combination automatically puts you into the co-ed division. Are you a corporate team? Part of a non Profit? How about in High School? If you want to run in a special division you may do so, or just choose the "open" division and run against everyone else...

You can create a team now and we will allow replacements if a member has to drop out for any reason leading up to the event. You do not need to inform us of any changes in your team unless it alters the race you are signed up for (see below).
