GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT:
If you know Terrapin Events, you know we are always seeking
out new ways to have fun. Well, we think we found the ultimate way to
do that in the Portland Drag Race! The PDR is a a tongue in cheek one
(1) mile run that takes place in front of tens of thousands of people
prior to the Portland Gay Pride parade.
At this event you get the best of both worlds. On one hand, come dressed
in drag or costume like all of us at Terrapin Events and enjoy the friendly
cheers from the crowd. On the other, come feel like an Olympian as you
try for your PR in the mile in front of a tens of thousands of spectators
cheering you on!
After the event, come join us at the Pride festival (free entry with
entry into the Drag Race) and enjoy great food, drinks and live music!
ABOUT THE KIDS EVENT:
There is no kids' race for this event. Kids are welcome to enter
this event at the normal race fee.
ABOUT PRIDE NW:
Pride Northwest is made up of a dynamic group of individuals from many
different backgrounds who are dedicated to providing a venue for the
queer community to gather and celebrate. The mission of Pride Northwest,
Inc. is to encourage and celebrate the positive diversity of the lesbian,
gay, bisexual, trans and queer communities, and to assist in the education
of all people through the development of activities that showcase the
history, accomplishments, and talents of these communities.

DAY OF RACE: AT THE EVENT: Starting at 9:45am
* We strongly recommend you attend the Sat. pick-up; lines on Sunday
are long and slow.
PRIDE FESTIVAL / AFTER RACE PARTY:
After the race, all participants are welcomed to come enjoy the Festival. Festival entry is donation based, so your entry into the Drag race qualifies you to enter the Festival guilt free. There are so many great things to stick around and enjoy!
FOOD AND BEVERAGE:
Food and Beverage at the Festival is available for purchase. Make sure you bring your ID and some money to enjoy all the great food and beverages at the festival.
CLOTHING CHECK-IN AT THE EVENT:
There is no clothing check for this event.
DOGS / PETS IN THE EVENT:
No Dogs or Pets are allowed in this event. However, service dogs
are permitted. If you would like to enter an event with your pup,
check out the Mt. Tabor
Doggie Challenge.
JOGGING STROLLERS IN THE EVENT:
Jogging strollers are permitted in this event. However, we ask that you be respectful to the other participants and please start toward the back.
IPODS / MP3 PLAYERS /WALKMANS:
All of our events are music player friendly. However, please be
aware that you still need to be conscious of your surroundings which
include your fellow participants, emergency vehicles, and the random
vehicle that may be on the course.
HOW TO GET THERE / PARKING / TRANSPORTATION:
On street parking is free on Sunday. There are also smart parks
close to the start / finish. PLEASE CARPOOL or take Public transportation!
The MAX stops a few blocks from the start. Please go to TriMet.org
to find out the best Public transportation routes. You can go to our

with others about offering / getting a ride to the event.
RACE TIMING / RESULTS:
This event is timed using conventional tear tag method of timing. In order to insure proper results, please make sure your name is printed clearly and correctly on your bib, or please make sure the label we place on your bib has your correct info. If not please tell us prior to the event.
As you finish and go through the finish chute, please keep moving and
please stay in the order you finished (this is how we keep track of
your place). Even though the results come out a little slower
this way, we are still pretty darn good and should have them posted
at the event. You can find them online by clicking on the results
page.
AWARDS / CEREMONY:
The award ceremony will take place at approximately 11:30am. The award
ceremony will be for the Top 3 overall winners and the overall master's
winners only. The prizes for the age group winners will be a available
to pick up next to the stage during and after the award ceremony.
We have awards for the top 3 male and female overall finisher in as
well as the top 3 masters male and female. There are age group awards
for top 3 finishers in each age category starting at 14 and under and
going in groups of every five years from age 15-80. (15-19, 20-24 etc)
