COURSE MAP AND DESCRIPTION / START LOCATION / SITE PLAN

Mt. Tabor park is located in SE Portland between Division and Belmont and 60th and 69th ave. Please park outside the park and walk, bike or jog to the start.

The race begins and ends near the bathrooms at Picnic Area A in Mt. Tabor Park.

The 8k run and walk begins near the playground and heads immediately uphill through the road gate and to the top of the mountain. All runners circle the top once (counter clockwise) and then head back down through the gate and to the right down the back side of the mountain. At the T everyone will go left toward 69th Ave and then once at 69th go left again up the small hill, staying inside the park.

At this point everyone will pass the finish line area (not finishing yet...) down the hill and left past the reservoir (on your left) and around the back loop keeping the reservoir on your left the whole time. There is a long gradual hill back toward the gate you went through to go to the top, however you will not go back to the top but run past it back to the T in the road.

This time everyone will go right down the huge hill and stay right all the way down to the gate near Lincoln St. Everyone goes through the gate (right) and up the hill on service road (turning right again...this is where you will begin cursing our name). Once up the hill you will come to another T where you will turn right (you will notice you have run this section once already when you turn right). Back up the gradual hill, past the gate (you do not go to the top ever again after the first time...) and back to the T for the THIRD time, where this time you go left again, past 69th staying in the park, and to the finish line where this time you will finish!

The 5k begins almost at the top of the mountain. From the picnic area we will all walk up to the start.
